As it now comes time for another segment of Exploring Brooklyn, I’ve found another word of mouth spot that I decided to go check out- Yadain Cultural Solutions located in Bed Stuy. Yadain specializes in natural skincare and beauty for all skin types, with a variety of products like face washes, body washes, soaps, whipped butters that are scented or fragrance free, and lots more. From what I could gather, most, if not all products are made in-house.
From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed by Yadain staff who were supporting other customers with their needs. You can find large glass jars to your left filled to the brim with scented whipped butters of all beautiful smells imaginable. To your right you can find a wall covered in creams and spreads in amazing scents to fit all your skincare needs. I walked to the back of the store where there were large metal bowls filled with more whipped butters, along with so many different types of scrubs! Large basket of potpourri in beautiful vibrant colors lay on the floor, and walls are filled with more soaps, lotions, creams, and serums. I also found tables covered in blocks of soaps, and the entire store smelled like I was walking through a field of flowers.
From a price standpoint, I found their products to be reasonably priced – pricing of bottles varied only by the size of the bottle, not what was in it which I really appreciated, and whipped butters and scrubs were priced by-the-pound. For completely all natural products from a smaller-scale business, these prices can’t be beat.
Yadain Cultural Solutions can be found online at yadainco.com, or if you’re ever in the Brooklyn area, 1409 Fulton Street. A new Atlanta location has also been added and you can find the address on their website under “locations”. Don’t forget to support small businesses, and Black owned businesses!
